IMPORTANT DATES for 2025
COME FROM AWAY is a Canadian musical with book, music, and lyrics by Irene Sankoff and David Hein. It tells the true story of what happened in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland in the days following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. When U.S. airspace was closed, 38 planes carrying nearly 7,000 passengers from around the worldwere unexpectedly diverted to Gander, nearly doubling the town’s population overnight.

The musical focuses on how the residents of Gander and surrounding communities welcomed these “come from aways” (Newfoundlander slang for outsiders), offering food, shelter, and kindness during a moment of global crisis. Through multiple interwoven storylines, we see cultural clashes, moments of fear and grief, but also unexpected friendships, love, and deep humanity that arose in the aftermath.

Since its debut in 2013 and subsequent Broadway run in 2017, Come From Away has been widely praised for its heartwarming portrayal of compassion and resilience. It received seven Tony Award nominations (winning Best Direction), the Olivier Award for Best New Musical, and has been staged internationally.

This will be the Sunshine Coast Premier of this Musical.

CAMP CRIKEY - Junior Actors

REHEARSAL - WEDNESDAY 3rd December 3.30-5.30pm. Come with your costumes.

Saturday 6th December at 10.30am and 1.pm

COSTUMES: All ‘campers” wear their everyday wear as if they were going to a school camp. Those working at the camp ie Arabella, Harper, Hamish wear something specific to their role.

Students are required 1 hour before each performance and can go home after their first show and return.
