About Us

For 19 years on the Sunshine Coast, BYTE YOUTH THEATRE has offered children aged 5-18 an opportunity to perform onstage gaining real experience in theatrical productions whilst receiving quality training in voice, movement, musical theatre, acting and stage craft. 

Our belief in offering young people quality projects, involving classic texts, works of literature and quality musical projects, ensures that our students are recognised as creative, intelligent and skilled performers who are well prepared to take their place on the world's stage and at tertiary institutions across Australia.

Our Alumni attest to the importance BYTE paid in their lives. BYTES alumni include graduates from NIDA, WAAPA, VCAE, AIM, QUT, Griffith, USQ acting and musical theatre degrees. Present students have been successful in gaining lead roles with professional shows,( including the title role of Matilda) theatre companies on the Sunshine Coast and in Brisbane and regularly participate in Community Theatre and events. 

BYTES has won multiple Awards in Play Production, Performance,  Script Writing, Direction and Acting on the Queensland Theatre Circuit and Anywhere Theatre Festival and has gained a considerable following of patrons who come along to our shows because of the high standard of theatre.
